ACT Coilers & Spoolers Photos

The ACT series of coilers can dramatically reduce labor by utilizing one operator for several extrusion lines and allowing time for additional tasks versus one operator per line. Special control features and a user-friendly, color touch screen interface allow convenient operator controls with near perfect switchover reliability at high speeds. The automatic design elimantes product from piling up on the floor, as required on manual switch-over machines, saving the operator time, minimizing scrap rates, improving wind appearance and product quality, while improving safety. This advanced system offers numerous upgrade options.

The Automatic Cut and Transfer (ACT) series of coiler incorporates a dual spindle turret winder designed for winding material from .032" to 1" diameter inline in an extrusion process. Standard systems have the ability to coil or spool as a standard (coiling heads optionally avaiable). The fully automatic, highly realiable system offers a cut and transfer feature triggered by the length counter based on a preset footage. Upon receipt of this singal, the product is cut, clamped and transferred from the full reel to the empty at speeds up to 1,000 FPM, eliminating the process interruptions of a manual system. An ultrasonic dancer locates the position of the product and assures smooth functioning of tension-controlled winding without making contact with the product. This loop control system offers the lowest tension possible for winding even the most sensitive products.
