Powered Capstans or Powered Sheaves are tension bearing devices that allow a constant pre-determined tension to be maintained while logging in and out of a well. Our powered-assist capstan prevents overloading the drum and reduces chance of drum crush.  In addition, the unit protects the cable itself at high tensions. TRUCK & TRAILER MOUNTED SPOOLING DECKS

Truck and trailer mounted spooling decks available for ESP cable field applications. Shafted and shaftless spooling decks offer hydraulic loading to pick up reel from the ground, and moves reel into transport position, with center of gravity over the wheels. Hydraulically driven tire transmits torque thru the rim of the reel, during pay-off and take-up operations, eliminating the chain and sprocket and the need to line up the drive arm with the reel drive holes; while increasing controllability of the reel speed. The tire is designed to handle even out of round reels. A common operator console houses controls for outriggers, lifting arms, spooling speed, and direction of rotation. Deck may be designed around virtually any customer specified truck or trailer chassis. Typical reel sizes are 96 in. diameter with a 30,000 lbs. capacity. Optional equipment includes cable levelwind, winches and cable depth measurement. The technology may be applied to virtually any material from ESP cable, power cables, wire rope, tubing, hose, etc.

• Linear measures for up to 6" diameter products with analog or programmable digital controls are available.
• Guillotine and scissor type cable and material cutters for up to 4" diameter product offered. Include pneumatic, remote hydraulic or hand operated hydraulics.
• Reel handling devises include reel rollers, reel lifting, reel jack stands and reel transporters.
• Controls include PLC with touchscreen, PC based with touchscreen and AC Vector Drive for precise tension, speed and position controls with multiple parameters.
• Automatic and semi-automatic levelwind controls include digital touchscreen, potentiometer and manual with electric (AC or DC), hydraulic, pneumatic, rolling ring or manual actuation. Fixed material diameter (fixed pitch) levelwinds are available.
